1811375 - How to convert eFashion Universe (UNV) from 32-bit Driver to (UNX) 64-bit driver, so it works with Dashboards?


Symptom

When trying to create Dashboard using Query Builder query connecting to converted efashion Universe (UNV to UNX), error message is displayed:

Request processing failed. (XLS 000009)

Dashboard 4.0

 

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Convert efashion UNV to UNX within Information Design Tool
  2. Create a dashboard off that UNX, using Query Builder
  3. Within Query Builder, error is thrown

 

Cause

This is a known issue prior to FP3 and was resolved.  However, if the underlying MS Access Database is verion Access 2007,  the issue will remain.Prior to Access 2010,  Microsoft Access did not include 64 bit drivers.


Resolution

  1. Update MS Access 200X to MS Access 2010. With Access 2010, there is 64-bit driver is installed.
  2. Create a 64-bit ODBC connection on Business Objects Enterprise Server, name it for example "efashion_64".
  3. Create a 32-bit ODBC connection on Client Machine, name it same as 64-bit driver, for example "efashion_64"
  4. Open Universe Design Tool and create a new connection using MS Access 32-bit driver.
  5. Import the efashion Universe within Universe Design Tool and change the connection to 32-bit MS Access driver (efashion_64).
  6. Save and Export the Universe.
  7. Open the UNV within Information Design Tool and covert that to UNX.
